Opened in 1993 and was the first HUD constructed apartment complex in the US specifically for people with HIV. Located in Durham, NC, Fitts-Powell has 10 one bedroom and 4 two bedroom apartments. Fitts-Powell is operated by ACRA but operates with a separate funding source and budget.
Apartments are handicapped accessible, located near shopping, and on the bus line. All units are unfurnished but do include a stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer. We have an onsite Community Room for meetings and social activities for residents.
